Patent-infringment judgement against Microsoft could affect other browsers

This week’s $521 million patent infringement judgement against Microsoft could be cause for concern for Opera and Mozilla. The judgement – which may well be overturned – involves the use of applets and plug-ins, which are obviously used in browsers other than Internet Explorer.
