Due to a slew of trackback spam over the past few days, I’ve been forced to disable all trackbacks for this blog. I hope to re-enable them once TypePad comes out with their promised comment and trackback enhancements.
Update: I’ve re-enabled trackbacks based on feedback I received at Gnomedex (a number of people told me they miss the trackbacks).

I haven’t had any trackback spam in months. My host does run mod_security though, and I have my own quick-and-dirty filtering which filters out a surprising amount of spam.
Spamming TypePad would strike me as somewhat futile though, considering that all the outbound links are nofollow’d.
WordPress already has this via the Spam Karma Plugin.
Although you may get notification of trackback spams through email, Typepad deletes them automatically, since the referring page needs to have a link to your page.
I don’t know that, Wesner – thanks.
