  1. This is cool. Congrats on the release.
If you don’t mind, I have a question. I see that you have improved proxy and firewall support. Could you share some details? I also have a Delphi side project and particular application really struggles with users who don’t know whether they have proxy/firewall. I am currently using Indy (which works great!) but it doesn’t support auto discovery of Proxy etc. I am seriously considering moving from Indy to WinInet. So what do you use?
Also, if you could share some details on Firewall issues and workarounds, it will be great.
Mail me if you don’t want to put up a public response.
    Thanks for your time,
    JD

  2. I switched to WinInet in version 3.12, which required completely rewriting TopStyle’s HTTP routines. One very nice thing about WinInet is it enables inheriting the proxy settings from Internet Explorer, which by itself solved a number of proxy-related problems.
It’s tough to reliably detect firewalls and proxies, but there are a few simple things you can do. First, if you get an HTTP status code of 407 (HTTP_STATUS_PROXY_AUTH_REQ) or 411 (HTTP_STATUS_AUTH_REFUSED) when connecting, you can assume the problem is a proxy server. If you can’t connect at all, there’s a good chance that a firewall is blocking you.

  3. Top Style is still the best Tool for CSS Files!
i used the lite version a few years ago and will soon buy the Pro version.

  4. Excellent product! I notice the Feed programs are getting a lot of attention lately. I hope TopStyle isn’t getting left in the dust! It’s still the more useful product for me, and worth every cent! As we inch towards CSS3 and XHTML 2.0, I hope TopStyle is ready to keep up! Thanks a lot Nick!
