- Dave Winer suggests that Apple and Microsoft build BitTorrent support into their operating systems. Sounds good to me. I’ve been wanting to add BitTorrent support to FeedDemon and FeedStation for quite some time, and this would certainly make it easier to do so.

- Google objects to IE7’s search box. I wonder if they also dislike the fact that IE7’s search box will make the Google Toolbar irrelevant for many users?
- Why are some people surprised that Apple OS X is susceptible to viruses? Of course it is, and it will be even more susceptible if its market share increases.

Google’s GData
At least in IE7 it’s a cinch to change the default search engine for that search box. In Safari on the Mac, there’s no obvious way to change the default search engine, which is set to…guess what…Google.
On point #3, I’d have to say that that is the issue at hand, not just the search box. =)
You might seriously talk to the guy who wrote utorrent. You could use his tiny (and rocking sweet) engine in your app as a dll. There is precedent.
