Getting your RSS feed included in FeedDemon

Lately I’ve been getting a lot of requests from people asking me to include their RSS feed in FeedDemon’s default set of channels. As much as I wish I could accommodate all these requests, the reality is that it’s just not possible.

I’ve tried to include a variety of feeds to familiarize new users with RSS and FeedDemon, and including too many feeds will overwhelm these same people. In fact, right now I’m trying to decrease the number of default channels rather than increase them.

So, if you’ve emailed me asking to include your feed, please don’t take it personally if you don’t see your feed included in the next FeedDemon beta.

  1. So… how do I get my feed in FD?
Just kidding Nick, keep up the great work.
PS: Any change of making the default feeds optional on install?

  2. Instead of including requested feeds in the shipping FD, perhaps you can provide a place on your website where they can add info. Then FD has a built-in link to go there, much as TS comes to the blog for info.
It’d be a way for you to supply link info easily without having to change it in the shipping product.

  3. Keeping the default feed set separate from the program itself would be a good idea – you could then have a separate set for the UK, for example; or perhaps multiple sets, eaching comprising one listing?
    Keep up the good work
