Bradbury Software Forums Moved

As part of the transition to NewsGator, the FeedDemon and TopStyle support forums have been moved to NewsGator’s site. My old support forums are available in read-only form so you can still browse older posts, but any new support questions should be posted in NewsGator’s forums.

We had hoped to make this change seamless by importing my old forum database into NewsGator’s, but unfortunately this turned out to be more error-prone than we anticipated. So, if you haven’t already done so, you’ll need to register for the NewsGator forums before posting there (you can, of course, read the forums without registration).

ANN: TopStyle Pro 3.12 Upgrade Now Available

I’m happy to announce that the final release of TopStyle Pro 3.12 is now available as an upgrade from the registered TopStyle Pro 3.0, 3.10 or 3.11. Some of the new features are highlighted in this post, and the full release notes may be found here.

To download the upgrade, stop by:

Just install this upgrade on top of your current version, and your existing settings will be retained. Once the initial rush of upgrade downloads has subsided, I’ll make a non-upgrade install available to registered customers.

Many thanks to everyone for helping out with the beta, and for putting up with all the delays while I made the move to NewsGator.

The final release candidate of TopStyle Pro 3.12 is now available to all TopStyle customers.

So what’s new in TopStyle Pro 3.12? You can view a complete list of changes here, but if you’re in a hurry, these are the top three most popular additions:

Support for id attributes in TopStyle’s style insight and hyperlink navigation
A thesaurus – just press Shift+F7 to display a list of synonyms for the current word
A fix for the bug that caused the embedded Mozilla Control to steal the focus away from TopStyle’s editor
Completely rewritten HTTP routines, for improved proxy and firewall support

New Betas of FeedDemon, FeedStation and TopStyle (whew!)

I’m obviously a slave to caffeine, because I’ve just released betas of FeedDemon, FeedStation and TopStyle.

If you’re not already using beta versions of these programs, there’s really no reason to start now – just stick with the current version until the final releases are available. But if you’re an existing beta tester, you’ll want to download these updates:

So why the sudden flurry of betas? Well, next Tuesday I undergo surgery for an acoustic neuroma, and my recovery may take several weeks, during which time I’m not going to be coding. Given this, we felt it best to get the existing fixes out now rather than expect you to wait for them.

Although I’ll be out for a while, keep in mind that I’m far from the only one at NewsGator focused on FeedDemon and TopStyle, so feedback about these betas is still important. So if you run into a bug, please let us know by posting details in the appropriate beta forum.

TopStyle Pro 3.12 Release Candidate 1 (RC1) is now available to registered customers. Details on changes in this release may be found in the release notes. As always, just install RC1 directly on top of the previous version, and your existing settings will be retained.

TopStyle, FeedDemon Donations

Seth Dillingham has found an interesting way to raise money for cancer research. Seth participated in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a bike ride across Massachusetts that took place earlier this month, and he’s asking development companies to donate software which will then be auctioned off to help him meet his goal.

We’re donating five copies each of TopStyle and FeedDemon, which we hope will get Seth closer to his goal. Looking at the list of software donations, it struck me how few Windows products are represented – any other Windows shops want to join in?
